Yaw Abedi is a native of Gomoa Nglesi and 17 years of age. He was knocked down the a VW Sprinter bus with the registration number GW 9836-21 while retrieving a ball off the pitch.
According to a report by Adom FM, Abedi was retrieving the ball for a restart after conceding a goal when he was knocked down by the Sprinter who was travelling to Cape Coast from Kasoa .
The young goalkeeper died on the spot bringing the match into an end.
