Afropop superstar Mr Eazi has unveiled his latest single, “Comfort,” a buoyant track that sees the Nigerian‑born artist returning to the breezy, rhythm‑driven sound that has defined his career. The song features Ghanaian‑American singer Moliy, best known for the global hit “Shake it to the Max (FLY).”

Produced by Nigerian hitmaker Ragee, whose recent credits include Davido’s “Unavailable” and Ayra Starr’s “Hot Body” and “Who’s Dat Girl,” the track marries Afrobeats, dancehall, hip‑hop and R&B. In a statement recorded in London this summer, Mr Eazi said, “This is an updated version of my signature sound. I’m making gyal dem music—sweet, easy, flattering gyal dem music.”

The accompanying music video, directed by Ademola Falomo, sports an 80s‑inspired visual treatment with retro‑futurist elements, telephone‑hotline aesthetics, laser‑grid graphics and oversized mobile phones.

For Ghanaian listeners, “Comfort” carries extra resonance. Mr Eazi’s musical identity was forged in Ghana, where he studied at KNUST in Kumasi and first developed the Banku Music fusion of Ghanaian highlife, Nigerian chord sensibilities and Pidgin storytelling. His early collaborations with Ghanaian artists—Pappy Kojo, Efya, Sarkodie, Eugy, King Promise, and producers like Juls, GuiltyBeatz and KillBeatz—have long linked his sound to Ghanaian influence.

Moliy, whose remix of “Shake It to the Max (FLY)” topped Billboard’s US Afrobeats Songs chart and entered the Hot 100, represents a new generation of Ghanaian artists taking that sound global. “Comfort” therefore unites two artists whose careers reflect Ghana’s continuing impact on Afropop.

Mr Eazi has been prolific in 2026, releasing singles with Dre Skull, a collaborative album with King Promise, and more tracks that showcase his evolving style. With new releases slated for the rest of the year, the artist continues to expand the sound that first made him one of Africa’s most distinctive Afropop figures.

Fans can stream “Comfort” via emPawa Africa’s link or watch the music video on YouTube. The track adds to Mr Eazi’s legacy as a Grammy‑winning musician, entrepreneur and advocate for African creativity.
