Luv 99.5FM Journalists Clinton Yeboah and Nana Boakye Dankwah Yiadom Selected for UK MEET Fellowship

Clinton Yeboah and Nana Boakye Dankwah Yiadom, both Luv 99.5FM journalists from Kumasi, have been selected for the UK Media Excellence for Emerging Technology (UK MEET) Fellowship. The pair were chosen from over 500 applications submitted by journalists and content creators across Ghana and Nigeria, placing them in the 13 percent of applicants admitted to the programme.

The fellowship, delivered by Imperial College London through Imperial Global Ghana with support from the British High Commission, will begin with residential training in Accra. Fellows will work with researchers in areas such as artificial intelligence, climate change and health technology, learning to scrutinise scientific claims, verify information and translate complex developments into accessible stories.

Participants will also attend editorial clinics to refine story ideas, strengthen sources and develop publication strategies. Beyond the training, the fellowship aims to build a professional network among science and technology journalists across the region, fostering collaboration and knowledge sharing.

The UK MEET Fellowship comes amid growing public interest in emerging technologies and their societal impact, and seeks to strengthen journalism’s role in accurately reporting, critically examining and clearly presenting technological developments.
