Ghana’s comedy scene is set to celebrate its heritage on Friday, 7 November 2026, when Lekzy DeComic will headline a night called Lekzy Unleashed: The Godfather Edition at the UPSA Auditorium in Accra. The event will bring together four generations of comedians, from the pioneers who first made stand‑up a profession to the current generation of rising stars.
Hosted by the two‑time Comedian of the Year, Lekzy will share the stage with Kweku Sintim‑Misa (KSM), Clemento Suarez, Fritz Baffour, Tommy Annan‑Forson, DKB, Foster Romanus, Jeneral Ntatia, Kwaku Manu and Khemikal. The lineup also includes Mr Beautiful, David Oscar Dogbe, Parrot Mouth, Percy Obrempong, James Brown, Jeffery Nortey and South African comic Chris Mapane.
Musical accompaniment will be provided by Ghana’s Rap Doctor, Okyeame Kwame, adding a lyrical touch to the evening’s laughter.
KSM, often called the Undisputed King of Comedy, has filled the National Theatre for 13 sold‑out nights and is celebrated as Ghana’s finest satirist. Fritz Baffour, dubbed the Father of Prime Time Comedy, began stand‑up in 1986 alongside Tommy Annan‑Forson when the idea of earning a living from comedy was still unheard of. Tommy, the first comedian to perform on state‑owned radio GBC, later transitioned to live stage shows, helping to nurture the next wave of talent.
The gathering promises to be a tribute to the evolution of Ghanaian comedy, showcasing the talent that has shaped the industry and the new voices that will carry it forward.
