At KGL House on Tuesday, the KGL Foundation and the GNPC Foundation signed a partnership agreement aimed at broadening educational opportunities for Ghanaian students. The deal will add 1,000 new scholarship recipients to the GNPC Foundation’s existing programme, which has already supported more than 9,700 students nationwide.
Alex Apau Dadey, Group Executive Chairman of KGL Group, welcomed the collaboration and reflected on the personal importance of education, citing his late father, Dr Alex Dadey, a noted educationist. “True success lies in our ability to create value and ensure that the value we create contributes meaningfully to the lives and communities from which we derive value,” he said.
Helga J. M. Boadi, Executive Director of the GNPC Foundation, highlighted the partnership as a model of public‑private collaboration for national development. She noted that the foundation currently has about 1,390 students enrolled under its national scholarship scheme and that the new partnership will bring an additional 1,000 into the programme.
The GNPC Foundation’s initiatives are carried out in partnership with the Ghana Education Service and the Ministry of Education, ensuring that investments strengthen learning environments and student outcomes. The KGL Foundation, which has already supported more than 300 students, continues to expand access through partnerships such as its scholarship programme with Lancaster University Ghana and a US$1 million, five‑year collaboration with the Ghana Football Association.
Both foundations see the partnership as a step toward turning educational opportunity into human potential and lasting national progress. The signing ceremony marked the latest effort to bring private resources into Ghana’s public education sector.
