Yellow Card, a leading global stablecoin payments infrastructure provider, announced on November 6 that it had completed its October acquisition of GoMoney Sociedade Prestadora de Serviços de Ativos Virtuais Ltda., a Brazilian virtual asset service provider. The deal gives Yellow Card a direct presence in Brazil, allowing it to offer local collections and disbursements in reais, including Pix payments, and stablecoin settlements through a locally established provider that integrates with its treasury and liquidity services across other markets.
GoMoney, founded in 2018, has been operating under Brazil’s transitional regime for virtual asset service providers and has filed for full authorisation under Law No. 14,478/2022 and BCB Resolution No. 519/2025. The application remains subject to review by the Banco Central do Brasil. The acquisition keeps GoMoney’s founders at the helm as a wholly owned subsidiary of Yellow Card.
“Building global financial infrastructure requires compliance with local frameworks, local payment rails, and local expertise and relationships to operate effectively,” said Chris Maurice, co‑founder and CEO of Yellow Card. “GoMoney has built a strong foundation in Brazil over the last eight years, and bringing our businesses together will allow us to deliver greater value to customers while accelerating our long‑term ambitions.”
Maurício Pires, GoMoney’s chief executive, added, “We have spent the last eight years building a virtual asset service provider business in Brazil focused on using stablecoins for cross‑border payments, similar to what Yellow Card has been doing in Africa and globally. We are excited to become part of the Yellow Card team and look forward to expanding our business in Brazil and throughout Latin America.”
Brazil represents a significant opportunity for stablecoin‑powered financial services. Chainalysis reported $252.5 billion in cryptocurrency activity between July 2025 and June 2026, making it Latin America’s largest crypto market, with stablecoin activity up 495% from 2024 to 2026, driven by growing business use cases such as cross‑border transfers and liquidity management.
Yellow Card’s growth follows an August 2026 $40 million financing round that included Standard Chartered Bank and Sony, and recent regulatory approvals in Canada, Switzerland, Nigeria, Ghana and Zimbabwe. The company plans to deepen its presence in strategic markets, broaden product capabilities and strengthen partnerships to support businesses operating globally.
