The Global Quality Assurance Association (GQAA) has announced that it will stage two major professional gatherings in October 2026, targeting quality assurance experts, academics, librarians, students and policymakers across the globe. The first event, the 4th International Convention on Quality Assurance in Library and Information Services, will run from 27 to 29 October at the ISSER Conference Facility of the University of Ghana in Accra.
Under the theme “Transforming Global Library Quality: Innovation, Collaboration and Intelligent Systems for Sustainable Information Services,” the convention will explore how libraries can adapt to digital and AI‑driven environments while maintaining high quality standards. Six sub‑themes will guide the programme, including the evolving role of libraries, AI applications, innovative information services, strategic partnerships, resource mobilisation and the cultivation of sustainable quality cultures.
Participants will receive certificates and learning materials, and those wishing to present papers are invited to submit abstracts. Registration details are available on the GQAA website.
Shortly before the convention, GQAA will host a three‑day Professional Quality Assurance Masterclass Series from 20 to 22 October. The live online series, themed “Turn Quality into Impact!!,” will be led by Dr. Violet Makuku, Director of the GQAA, and will feature Professor Evelyn Garwe, a seasoned QA expert and former Acting and Deputy CEO of the Zimbabwe Council for Higher Education. The masterclasses aim to help quality professionals translate principles into measurable, future‑ready strategies.
Attendees of the masterclass series will receive a participation certificate and practical resources to apply the knowledge gained. Sessions will run live online from 13:45 to 16:00 GMT, and participants may register for one or more sessions based on their interests.
