Umaru Sanda Amadu, a well‑known journalist with Channel One TV and Citi FM, inaugurated the Umaru Sanda Foundation on Sunday, November 1, in Asutsuare under the theme “Beyond the Limit”. The launch followed his recent admission to the Bar, marking a new chapter in his career.
The ceremony drew a host of dignitaries, including Chief of Staff Julius Debrah, Minister for Sports and Recreation Kofi Adams, Minister for Communication, Digital Technology and Innovations Sam Nartey George, former Speaker of Parliament Edward Doe Adjaho, and Managing Director of Citi FM and Channel One TV Samuel Attah‑Mensah. Chief of Staff Debrah publicly endorsed the initiative, pledging an undisclosed sum to support the foundation’s activities and praised Mr Amadu for his respectful conduct towards older people, urging the youth to emulate his example.
Debrah also urged young people to uphold values that bring honour to their families and communities. The event featured cultural performances by students from Asutsuare and brought together traditional leaders, members of the Muslim community, residents and staff from both media houses.
Mr Amadu said the foundation’s mission is to support the under‑privileged and contribute to development in communities, with a focus on sustainable projects that empower local residents. The launch event set the stage for future initiatives aimed at improving education, health and economic opportunities in the region.
As the foundation moves forward, it will rely on the support of the government, private sector and community members to achieve its goals. Stakeholders are encouraged to collaborate and contribute to the foundation’s programs, ensuring lasting impact for the people of Asutsuare and beyond.
