Ford Sprinter Collides With Toyota Voxy on Accra‑Aflao Highway

A blue‑black Ford Sprinter bus and a white Toyota Voxy collided at the Kpodokope‑Tamatoku Junction in Ada East District on the Accra‑Aflao Highway around 10:30 pm Friday night, leaving the Voxy somersaulted onto its side.

The Sprinter, registered AW 6857‑21, was overtaking the Voxy as it turned at the junction. An eyewitness, Eleazer Lawerteh, recalled that three vehicles were behind the Voxy; the first overtook it, the second slowed, and the third – the Sprinter – attempted to pass, causing the crash.

Both vehicles sustained damage and occupants suffered minor injuries. They were taken to Ada East District Hospital for treatment, including the Sprinter driver. Inspector Julius Kamayor of the Formed Police Unit, who was on duty with other officers at Tojeh, said they were dispatched to the scene to maintain order and assess the damage.

Authorities have not released a formal investigation report yet. Drivers and passengers are advised to exercise caution on the busy highway, especially near junctions where overtaking can be hazardous.
