On Friday 23 October 2026, 47 university students from first‑year to final‑year attended the inaugural Unmute Yo’Self event at the Accra AI Community Center in Ridge. The free workshop was organised by the Sincerely Accra Podcast in partnership with The Gold Coast Report and sponsored by Malta Guinness and Ashesi University.
The initiative aims to fill a gap for young people who possess strong ideas but lack the confidence to present them in classrooms, interviews or professional settings. Participants noted that few platforms offer a supportive environment to practise public speaking.

Co‑creators of the podcast, host Joseph Nti and producer Kwame Asante Ofori, led sessions on managing nervousness and structuring a message with a clear opening, main idea, supporting example and conclusion. Guest speaker Nadia Daniel‑Wilson addressed “Using AI Without Surrendering Your Creativity,” urging students to use AI tools while maintaining their own voice and judgment.

A panel of creative entrepreneurs – Shaunn Armah, founder and storyteller; Kabiru Seidu, co‑founder and Director of Design and Strategy at The Big Fat African Development; and Seli Dzogbenuku, writer and podcast host – discussed how they turned their skills into income. Students applied the lessons through mini‑presentations and 30‑second pitches delivered to their peers.
Unmute Yo’Self is slated to become an annual event, with a second edition scheduled for 2027. The Sincerely Accra Podcast continues to create experiences that help young Ghanaians build confidence and tell their own stories.
