The Asankragwa Divisional Police Command has dismissed ten reported cases of alleged missing genitalia within its operational area, confirming that medical examinations proved all complaints were unfounded.

Clinical assessments conducted on the ten individuals established that their genitalia were entirely intact and medically normal.

Addressing a press briefing in Asankragwa on Monday, 26 October 2026, the Divisional Police Commander, Chief Superintendent Vitus Napen, disclosed that the first incident was reported at Wassa Dunkwa on 17 October, followed by nine additional reports across the municipality.

Out of the ten reported incidents, Wassa Dunkwa recorded six cases, Asankragwa recorded two, while Aboi Nkwanta and Breman recorded one case each. In each instance, complainants alleged that their genitalia disappeared immediately after physical contact with other individuals. However, medical examinations ordered by the police confirmed that all complainants were in normal medical condition.

Chief Superintendent Napen stated that preliminary investigations pointed to widespread panic, anxiety, and misinformation as the main drivers of the false allegations.

The Divisional Commander also reported an incident at Breman, where a mob attacked a police patrol team sent to rescue a suspect accused of stealing a man's genitalia. The mob smashed the rear windscreen of the patrol vehicle in an attempt to lynch the suspect.

Condemning the attack, Chief Superintendent Napen warned that persons who assault security officers or destroy state property will be arrested and prosecuted. He also reminded the public that raising false alarms and deceiving public officers carry legal consequences.

He urged traditional authorities, assembly members, and community leaders in the Wassa Amenfi West Municipality to educate residents against taking the law into their own hands and to allow the police to investigate complaints through established legal processes. Police investigations into the Breman vandalism are ongoing.
