Ntano Gated Facility Probe: Women Allegedly Abducted and Abused

The Eastern Regional Police Command has opened an inquiry into the alleged abduction and physical abuse of women at a gated residential facility in Ntano Electoral Area, New Juaben North Municipality. The complex, near the CMB Workshop, is reportedly occupied by about 18 West African nationals involved in network marketing, according to preliminary police findings.

Local residents alerted authorities after repeatedly hearing unusual noises and cries in the evenings, which they believed came from women inside the apartments. The concerns prompted the deployment of personnel from the Counter Terrorism Unit and the Effiduase Police Command to the area.

During the operation, some suspects were arrested and are now in police custody as investigations continue. Police have not yet released details on the suspects’ identities, the number of women allegedly affected, or the full circumstances of the incidents.

The investigation is ongoing, with police working to uncover the extent of the alleged abductions and abuses at the facility.
