The French Embassy in Ghana has handed 300 packs of urine drug‑test kits and accompanying accessories to the Narcotics Control Commission (NACOC) to bolster its enforcement operations at Accra International Airport.
Through the Embassy’s Direction de la Coopération Internationale de Sécurité (DCI), the donation aims to strengthen NACOC’s capacity to detect suspected drug use during airport operations.

Mr Nicholas Gongora, the DCI Branch Ghana Regional Police Liaison Officer, said the move is part of the French Government’s support for efforts to combat organised crime, particularly drug trafficking.
He added that the Embassy is arranging a training session for NACOC officers stationed at the airport to refresh their knowledge and skills, improving operational effectiveness.

Receiving the kits, Deputy Director‑General in charge of Enforcement, Control and Elimination, Lawyer Alexander Twum‑Barimah, thanked the French Embassy and the DCI team, commending their continued commitment to NACOC’s activities.
Twum‑Barimah reiterated the Commission’s pledge to work closely with the French Embassy and other international partners to combat drug trafficking in Ghana.
