Alhaji Mohammed‑Mubarak Muntaka, the Member of Parliament for Asawase, announced the creation of the Muntaka Mohammed‑Mubarak Foundation, also known as the 3‑M Foundation, on Thursday. The move aims to institutionalise the MP’s long‑standing humanitarian initiatives so they can continue once his parliamentary career ends.
During the foundation’s official outdooring, Muntaka explained that the decision was driven by the collapse of several community projects when their founders left office. “I woke up to the reality that if I don’t start putting measures in place, one day I will step out and a new person will come, and he will have to start all over again,” he said.

The 3‑M Foundation will focus first on healthcare, building on 21 years of work that has included free medical screening, eye care, breast cancer awareness and financial support for surgical patients. In the past year, the programme screened more than 11,000 people, funded 225 cataract surgeries, paid for 77 mammograms and supported five breast cancer surgeries across 33 electoral areas in eight Greater Kumasi constituencies.
Beyond health, the foundation plans to support bright but needy students with school fees, offer apprenticeships through the National Vocational Training Institute, and provide start‑up equipment to artisans. It will also supply soft, interest‑free loans to small businesses and women’s groups, and distribute desks, chairs and educational materials to schools in Asawase.

Muntaka said the foundation will seek contributions and investments from individuals, businesses and development partners to build a financially sustainable model. He urged fellow MPs with similar programmes to establish lasting structures: “Let’s continue working very hard, because the original intention is to help the people.”
Operating under the theme “Inspiring People, Touching Lives,” the 3‑M Foundation will forge partnerships with medical professionals, corporate institutions and educational facilities to broaden access to essential services and economic opportunities.
