In the Ashanti Region’s Atwima Kwanwoma Constituency, a group of National Democratic Congress delegates have publicly condemned party officials after alleging that their names were deleted from the electoral register and replaced with those they deem unqualified. The dispute has escalated at Twedie, where constituency elections are underway.
Delegates say they have repeatedly reported the issue to the NDC’s regional executives, but the matter remains unresolved. Frustrated, they have turned to spiritual measures, invoking the Antoa deity and conducting libations and sheep sacrifices in an attempt to compel accountability.
Speaking to the media, delegate Gifty Kobbina warned that the failure to address the register changes could erode confidence in the upcoming elections and widen rifts within the party. “We have suffered for this party, and we will not allow anyone to cheat us,” she said, calling on Antoa to strike those responsible for the alleged manipulation.
The delegates’ actions have drawn attention to concerns over internal party governance and the integrity of the electoral process ahead of the national polls. The NDC has yet to issue a formal response to the accusations.
