Paul Oblie Laryea has been re‑elected as chairman of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the Odododiodio Constituency, promising to widen the party’s vote margin in the 2028 general elections. The election was held earlier this week, with Laryea securing the position after a competitive internal contest.
Speaking to Channel One News following his victory, Mr Laryea outlined his strategy for the next election cycle. He said the new constituency executive would continue to communicate the party’s achievements to voters, building on the gains already made. “We have been telling the people what we have achieved. We were able to increase the voter margin to a certain level, from 5,000 to 14,000, from 6,000 to 18,000. So that is what we did, and we are going to do the same come 2028,” he said.
Laryea attributed the gains to the NDC’s efforts to highlight its record and expressed confidence that the strategy would help secure a wider margin in 2028. He emphasized the importance of maintaining transparency and accountability in the party’s outreach programmes, noting that these factors had resonated with the electorate.
The newly elected constituency executives for Odododiodio include Mr Laryea as chairman, alongside other members who will work together to strengthen the party’s grassroots presence. The NDC has already begun planning for the upcoming elections, with a focus on voter engagement and policy communication.
Looking ahead, Laryea has indicated that the party will continue to refine its messaging and expand its outreach to ensure a decisive victory in 2028. He urged party members to stay united and committed to the shared goal of increasing the NDC’s vote margin in the constituency.
