The Ghana Gold Board (GoldBod) has announced that its daily local gold price releases will be delayed by one hour, starting Monday, October 26, 2026. The change follows the end of British Summer Time in the United Kingdom and the resulting shift in the time difference between London and Ghana.
Under the new schedule, the London Bullion Market Association (LBMA) morning gold price benchmark will be quoted at 10:30 a.m. Ghana time instead of 9:30 a.m., while the afternoon benchmark will move to 3 p.m. instead of 2 p.m. GoldBod’s local price announcements will mirror these adjustments.
GoldBod’s compliance notice, dated October 25, directed all licensed gold buyers to note the revised timetable and to make the necessary operational changes to remain compliant. The board emphasized that the change does not affect any other rules, procedures or requirements governing local gold price determination and trading.
The revised timing will apply to licensed gold buyers from October 26, 2026, through March 27, 2027. GoldBod said the previous schedule will resume on Sunday, March 28, 2027, when the United Kingdom reverts to British Summer Time. The board will provide further guidance if needed.
Licensed gold buyers who rely on GoldBod’s daily local price announcements for their transactions will need to adjust their operations to the new times during this five‑month period.
