Mrs Anna Tackie, a respected member of the Nana Ekua Maanan Nsona Family in Elmina, died at her home on 2 October 2026. She was surrounded by family and friends at her residence on Town Council Line, near the Laterbiokorshie Cluster of Schools.
The funeral services were held at the Martyrs of Uganda Catholic Church in Mamprobi. A Saturday service took place on 3 October, followed by a Sunday service on 4 October. The gatherings were attended by numerous traditional leaders, family members, and community representatives.
Among those who attended were Okokroko Nana Ekua Maanan (V), Nana Hemma Aba Fritsewa (I), Nana Essel Kobina, Ebusua Baatan Opanyin Kojo Essoun, and many others from the Elmina Traditional Council and surrounding families. The family also received condolences from relatives in the United States, United Kingdom, Canada, and Ghana, including Dr Robert Nowkwei Tackie, Roberta Tackie, Margaret Tackie, Charles Tackie, and Lovelace Tackie of Joy Multimedia.
Mrs Tackie’s passing is a great loss to the community, and her legacy will be remembered by those who knew her.
