The New Patriotic Party (NPP) announced the voting schedule and identification requirements for its national officers' elections on Saturday, October 3, 2026, through a notice issued by its National Officers Elections Committee (NOEC) on Wednesday, September 30.
The programme will begin at 9:00 a.m. with the consideration of constitutional amendments, followed by the election of national officers at 12:00 p.m. Delegates will vote across 31 polling stations for nine positions, including National Chairman, Vice Chairman, General Secretary, National Organiser, National Women’s Organiser, National Youth Organiser, National Nasara Organiser, National Treasurer and National Communications Director.
The Electoral Commission (EC) will conduct the elections and verify delegates before allowing them to vote. Delegates must have their names on the official delegates’ register and present one valid identification document to establish their eligibility. Accepted documents include a Voter ID card, Ghana Card or NPP party card.
Frederick Opare-Ansah, Chairman of the NOEC, stressed the importance of punctuality and cooperation.
"Your punctuality and cooperation will help ensure the orderly consideration of constitutional amendments and the smooth conduct of the elections of national officers," he said.
Delegates have been advised to bring one of the approved identification documents and allow sufficient time for verification before voting begins. The committee has also directed all constituency, regional and national officers to inform delegates under their jurisdictions about the arrangements.
With the election of national officers set to shape the party’s leadership for the coming term, the NPP’s clear timetable and ID guidelines aim to streamline the process and minimise disruptions on the day of the vote.
