The Legal Green Association (LGA) staged a landmark programme in Accra that brought together law students, legal professionals and distinguished public officials to discuss national issues, review the Association’s activities, honour outstanding service and elect new leadership for 2026/2027.
The event unfolded in three phases: a Law Students’ Conference, the LGA Annual General Meeting (AGM) and the Election of New Executives. Speakers included Hon. Nana Oye Bampoe Addo Esq, Deputy Chief of Staff; Hon. Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, Minister for Foreign Affairs; Hon. Rockson‑Nelson Etse Dafeamekpor Esq, Chief Whip of Parliament and President of the Ghana Law Society; Mr Edmond Kombat Esq, Managing Director of the Tema Oil Refinery; and Mr Lom Nuku Ahlijah Esq, energy expert, lawyer and law lecturer.
During the AGM, the LGA recognised members who had distinguished themselves through exceptional service. The highlight was the award to the Committee in Charge of Politics and Elections, which was adjudged the Overall Best Performing Committee for the 2025/2026 year. The committee, led by Evans Mawunyo Tsikata and supported by Jackson Bright Kitanya‑Dabanyi, Ebenezer Sefa‑Kissi and Desmond Akudbilla, demonstrated teamwork, dedication and institutional responsibility.
Dr Desmond Enock Fiifi Annan was elected as the new Leader of the Legal Green Association for 2026/2027. His election marks the start of a new leadership era and offers an opportunity to consolidate previous gains while injecting fresh ideas into the Association.
The LGA’s successful programme reflected collective effort, dedicated service and institutional commitment. With Dr Annan at the helm, the Association aims to build on its achievements, deepen participation and continue advancing legal education and national development.
