On Thursday, Bekwai MP Ralph Poku‑Adusei officially commissioned a newly constructed mechanised borehole in the Bekwai Zongo community. The handover ceremony marked the latest milestone of the MP’s Water for Life Initiative, aimed at tackling water supply challenges in underserved parts of the constituency.
Poku‑Adusei noted that his commitment to water infrastructure began before he entered Parliament. In 2024, while serving as the New Patriotic Party candidate, he supported borehole projects in Asokore, Edwenase and Huntado, and helped repair several broken boreholes in other communities.
During the event, the MP reiterated that access to safe water is essential for public health and wellbeing. He thanked the chiefs, elders and residents of Bekwai Zongo for their warm reception and pledged that the new borehole would ease water supply challenges and improve living conditions.
The mechanised borehole is expected to provide residents with a more reliable source of drinking water, contributing to better public health outcomes in the area.
