President John Dramani Mahama reiterated his pledge to safeguard Ghana’s national interest, champion resource‑driven development and uphold the Pan‑Africanist ideals of Ghana’s first president, Osagyefo Kwame Nkrumah.
Speaking to members of the Ghanaian diaspora in Moscow, Russia, Mahama reflected on Nkrumah’s legacy and declared himself part of the generation of African leaders tasked with advancing continental unity.

He stressed that Ghana’s natural resources must be managed to deliver tangible benefits to its people, placing national interest at the core of the country’s development agenda.

Mahama underscored that Pan‑Africanism would remain a central pillar of his vision and leadership, urging the diaspora to play an active role in national progress.
The engagement is part of a series of meetings with Ghanaians abroad, offering a platform to discuss the country’s future and the diaspora’s contribution.
