Simon Madjie, Chief Executive Officer of the Ghana Investment Promotion Authority (GIPA), urged Qatari investors to increase their presence in Ghana’s strategic sectors during the ninth edition of the World Investment Forum 2026 in Doha.
Madjie said Ghana seeks to deepen investment cooperation with Qatar by creating partnership opportunities in agriculture, manufacturing, energy, infrastructure, financial services, tourism and the creative arts. He highlighted the potential for collaboration in culture and creative industries, noting Ghana’s interest in leveraging Qatar’s expertise to strengthen business ties.
The GIPA chief noted that improved air connectivity between the two countries would facilitate business engagements, promote trade and boost investment flows. He added that Ghana is working to improve its business environment and offers incentives for investors in free zones, as well as for factories, equipment and machinery.
Madjie stated that Ghana is keen on attracting Qatari investment into manufacturing, agro‑processing, financial services, fintech, digital services, oil and gas, power generation, mining and tourism. He called for stronger cooperation between the public and private sectors of both nations to establish sustainable partnerships that serve mutual interests.
Ghana’s participation in the forum aimed to showcase its investment potential and encourage Qatari businesses to explore commercially viable opportunities.
