Central North Regional Police Command arrested four individuals connected to the alleged kidnapping of 30‑year‑old Bismark Amoh, who was reportedly seized more than a week ago and tortured before a ransom of GH¢45,000 was demanded.
The operation, codenamed “Operation Rescue the Victim and Arrest the Perpetrators”, led police to a location in the Ashanti Region where the victim and suspects were found.
DCOP Abraham Acquaye, the regional commander, announced the arrests at a press briefing on Monday, September 14. The detained suspects are Mavis Badu Acheampong, 42, a teacher at Kumasi Girls Senior High School from Breman UGC; Charles Doku, 53, a security guard from Breman UGC; Oteng Baffour, 31, an electrician from Breman UGC; and Kenneth Opoku Kwarteng, alias Culture, whose age is unconfirmed and who also teaches at Kumasi Girls Senior High School.
Police are still searching for a senior military officer believed to have orchestrated the kidnapping. Authorities have urged anyone with information to come forward.
