Brandix Limited of Ghana, together with India‑based Piaggio Vehicles Private Limited (PVPL), introduced two new three‑wheeler models – the Piaggio Apé City Plus and Apé City NXT Plus – in Kumasi on 27 October 2026. The event, held at the Lancaster Hotel, drew vehicle dealers, Pragia riders, businessmen and transport operators from across the Ashanti Region.

Nana Yaw Akuoko, the Otumfuo Assinhene, chaired the launch. He praised the partnership, noting it could create jobs for young people and lift livelihoods. Akuoko also urged Pragia riders to exercise caution on the roads, stressing the importance of protecting their lives and those of other road users.

Brandix Country Manager hMr Kosala Premakumara explained that the launch was part of Piaggio’s strategy to broaden its footprint in West Africa with fuel‑efficient, economical passenger vehicles. He highlighted a new vehicle‑financing scheme designed to make ownership accessible to aspiring entrepreneurs, drivers and transport operators, allowing those who currently rent vehicles to move towards ownership.

Piaggio’s Chairman and Managing Director Mr Diego Graffi said Africa remained a key growth market for the company and that Ghana offered significant potential in the passenger transport sector. Brandix director Mr Mohammad Shifan added that the company aimed to improve access to vehicle ownership, while director Mr Hamir Udeshi noted the firm was strengthening sales operations, customer relations and after‑sales services through its presence in Kumasi and Tamale.

With the launch, Brandix and Piaggio aim to provide reliable, cost‑effective transport solutions to Ghana’s growing mobility needs, while the financing options could open new income streams for local drivers and entrepreneurs.
