OMJ Foundation Awards 12 BECEPIP Learners in Akuapem South

On Friday, September 11, the OMJ Foundation’s founder and CEO, Osei Mensah Joseph, handed out scholarship packages to twelve learners who completed the Basic Education Certificate Examination Preparation Intervention Project (BECEPIP) pilot in Akuapem South. The awards, presented at the Municipal Head Office of the Akuapem South Education Directorate, included a mattress, a chop box and a single‑piece travelling suitcase for each student to aid their transition into senior high school.

Mr Joseph highlighted his personal journey as a source of motivation for the beneficiaries and urged them to stay focused, disciplined and determined as they embark on their SHS studies. He also called on parents to take greater responsibility for their children’s academic development and wellbeing. The ceremony was chaired by the Municipal Director of Education, Madam Elizabeth Afriyie, who thanked OMJ for the initiative and praised the improvement in BECE performance among the five participating schools.

BECEPIP, a fully funded educational intervention by the OMJ Foundation, ran for three months in five schools, offering intensive academic preparation, learning support, structured revision, examination techniques, motivation, mentorship and welfare support. The programme was implemented in consultation with the Akuapem South Education Directorate and the schools’ staff.

Mr Joseph concluded by reminding the awardees that Akuapem South is their home and encouraging them to shine wherever they go in their SHS journey, assuring them of ongoing support when needed.
