The National Democratic Congress (NDC) has announced that the commencement of submission of nomination forms for its 2026 National Executive Elections will now begin at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday, November 7, rather than the originally scheduled 8:00 a.m. slot.
The change was issued by the party’s Congress Elections Committee, which cited the monthly National Clean‑Up Exercise that is set to take place on the same day as the reason for the adjustment.
Dr Peter Boamah Otokunor, the Committee’s spokesperson, released a statement on Friday, November 6, urging all aspirants to note the revised timing and to make the necessary arrangements to submit their completed nomination forms by noon.
"The Congress Elections Committee wishes to inform all aspirants contesting in the 2026 NDC National Executive Elections that, in view of the Monthly National Clean‑Up Exercise scheduled for tomorrow, Saturday, 7th November 2026, the submission of completed nomination forms, originally scheduled to commence at 8:00 a.m., has been rescheduled to 12:00 p.m.",the statement read.
The submission exercise will take place at the NDC National Headquarters. The Committee has urged all aspirants to comply with the new schedule to avoid any procedural delays.
With the rescheduling, candidates now have a full six hours to prepare and submit their forms, a move that the party says will not affect the overall timeline of the 2026 National Executive Elections.
As the NDC gears up for its upcoming elections, the party’s leadership has emphasized the importance of maintaining order and ensuring that all aspirants adhere to the updated deadline. The Clean‑Up Exercise, a regular event aimed at promoting civic responsibility, will run concurrently with the nomination submission, underscoring the party’s commitment to community engagement even as it prepares for internal democratic processes.
