MTN Ghana and its sister company Mobile Money Fintech Limited (MMFL) reported a combined after‑tax profit of GH¢7.75 billion for the nine months ended September 2026, a 43 % jump from GH¢5.42 billion in the same period last year.
The rise was underpinned by higher revenue from data services, mobile money and digital platforms, coupled with improved operational efficiency. Service revenue grew 33.5 % to GH¢23.15 billion, while EBITDA climbed 40.6 % to GH¢14.28 billion, lifting the margin to 61.5 % despite a 23.2 % increase in operating costs to GH¢8.93 billion.
Data remained the top revenue driver, generating GH¢13.45 billion, up 44.5 % year‑on‑year. Mobile money revenue rose 24.4 % to GH¢5.37 billion, and digital revenue nearly doubled to GH¢642 million. Active data subscribers increased 16.1 % to 22 million, while active mobile‑money users grew 6.9 % to 18.9 million.
Both Scancom PLC and MMFL boards declared an interim third‑quarter dividend of GH¢0.03 per share. MTN Ghana forecasts full‑year 2026 service revenue growth in the low‑to‑mid‑30 % range, with EBITDA margins expected between the high‑50s and low‑60s.
Investors and analysts will watch the company’s guidance and the sustainability of its digital‑platform momentum as the telecom landscape evolves.
