Dr. Kingsley Agyemang, the Member of Parliament for Abuakwa South, has given a laptop and an undisclosed amount of money to Awuah Seth Seyram, a promising student from Asiakwa who has secured a place at the University of Ghana Medical School in Legon. The donation is aimed at easing Seyram’s transition into medical education and supporting his goal of becoming a doctor.
Seyram’s admission follows a distinguished academic path that began with the Kingsley Science and Maths Quiz (KSMQ), an initiative founded by Dr. Agyemang to spot and nurture talented students in the Abuakwa South Municipality. After excelling at KSMQ, Seyram attended Prempeh College, where he continued to stand out academically and represented the school at the recent National Science and Maths Quiz (NSMQ), helping the team reach the semi‑finals.
Dr. Agyemang stated that his intervention is part of a broader commitment to assist gifted young people who face financial or material hurdles. He added that he will provide continued assistance throughout Seyram’s university journey, ensuring that the student can focus on his studies without undue worry.
The support comes at a critical time as medical students often grapple with high tuition fees and limited access to technology. By providing a laptop, Dr. Agyemang has equipped Seyram with a vital tool for research, coursework, and communication with peers and professors.
As Seyram embarks on his medical training, the community watches with optimism, hoping that his success will inspire other students in the region to pursue higher education and that the KSMQ initiative will continue to uncover and support future talents.
