Ghana’s national volleyball team, the Black Spikers, turned back a disappointing opening defeat by defeating Kenya 3-0 in their second match of the 2026 Africa Nations Volleyball Championship held in Tunis.
The two teams faced off in Pool A, where the West Africans dominated from the first serve. Ghana opened the contest with a 25-20 win in the first set, then held a 25-23 advantage in the second, despite Kenya’s efforts to close the gap.
The deciding set saw Kenya start strong but ultimately lose 25-20, giving Ghana a clean sweep and a place in the next round of the championship.
The tournament also serves as a qualifier for the 2027 FIVB Volleyball World Championship and the Los Angeles 2028 Olympic Games, heightening the stakes for all competing nations.
