The Ghana Education Service (GES) has announced an application window for promotions to upper grades for non‑teaching staff. The window runs from 14 to 28 September 2026, as per a notice signed by Deputy Director‑General (Management Services), Prof. Smile Dzisi, on behalf of the Director‑General of GES.
Eligible staff include those in accounting, internal audit, administration, catering, technical, library, supply, laboratory technology, secretarial and driver classes. Promotion targets include Chief Accountant II, Deputy Chief Accountant I and II, Principal Accountant, Chief Internal Auditor II, Chief Administrative Officer II, Chief Domestic Bursar, Chief Technical Officer, Chief Librarian, Chief Supply Officer, Chief Laboratory Technician, Principal Private Secretary, Yard Foreman, Chief Driver and Principal Driver.

Applicants must have reached one of the specified grades in or before 2022 and have remained continuously in post since, except for approved absences. A very satisfactory work history and good conduct within GES are required. Officers wishing to use a master’s or doctorate degree for interview consideration must meet additional criteria: the degree must be on the approved GES course list, obtained after the previous promotion, and earned in or before 2023.

Applications are submitted online through the designated platform. Applicants must upload a recent passport‑sized photograph and all relevant promotion, upgrading or appointment letters in PDF format, except the photograph. Those using master’s or doctorate certificates must also upload the certificate.
