Banking for Eunice Delali Alomatu is less about numbers and more about the businesses that drive them. After starting as a Branch Operations Assistant at the Agricultural Development Bank in 2019, she helped streamline loan origination, cutting turnaround time by 15 % and unlocking over $2 million in seasonal finance for smallholder farmers.
In 2022 she joined Access Bank Ghana, first as a Customer Service Officer and Management Trainee, where her outreach efforts lifted digital product sales by 15 % and branch profit by 10 %. A shift to Credit Risk Analysis soon followed, placing her at the heart of major credit assessments and risk modelling.
Alomatu played a key role in Access Bank’s risk‑sharing partnership with the International Finance Corporation, securing a 50 % guarantee that expanded financing to more than 200 SMEs. She also structured and due‑diligenced credit facilities exceeding $20 million for infrastructure projects and $10 million for multinational energy clients, and supported a syndicated $50 million facility for a mining company.
January 2025 saw her move to First National Bank Ghana as a Credit Origination Associate. Here she has focused on agribusiness financing under Mastercard’s Bridge‑in Agriculture programme, structuring over $5 million in loans and developing a data‑driven dashboard to monitor portfolio health.
Alomatu’s approach stresses that agribusinesses operate on seasonal cycles, commodity price swings, weather risks and foreign‑exchange pressures. She argues that banks must look beyond historic statements and conventional ratios, instead designing credit structures that match the cash‑flow realities of each enterprise.
Her career trajectory illustrates how a deep understanding of business operations can transform responsible lending, ensuring that financing is both accessible and sustainable for Ghana’s growing SME and agribusiness sectors.
