Aliko Dangote Credits President Mahama for Ghana’s Economic Turnaround

Aliko Dangote, president of the Dangote Group and Africa’s richest man, praised President John Dramani Mahama for restoring confidence in Ghana’s economy during the Accra Reset event hosted by the president on the sidelines of the United Nations General Assembly on Monday, September 21.

Dangote said the country’s rapid economic improvement shows that investor trust plays a critical role in driving recovery, and that Mahama’s approach had reassured investors without resorting to extraordinary measures.

He added that the Ghanaian experience reinforces the link between confidence in leadership and the movement of capital, noting that “money follows trust.”
