On October 21, 2026, Roselyn Mantey, CEO of Rossyglams Artistry, will attempt to break a Guinness World Record by teaching more than 1,000 participants to apply makeup at the same time in Accra’s UPSA Auditorium.
The event follows her 2024 record for the Longest Marathon Applying Makeup, during which she spent 103 hours, 25 minutes and 33 seconds continuously applying makeup between April 3 and 7.
In a September 13 interview, Mantey said the new attempt is less about personal glory and more about creating a collective experience that can inspire young Ghanaians to turn skills into profitable careers.
“I want 1,000 people to participate in learning and gaining practical knowledge. I want this to move from ‘me making history’ to ‘us making history,’” she explained. “My goal is not just to break a record but to create an experience that can inspire people to believe that their skills can become legitimate and profitable careers.”
She noted that her first record showed that talent alone is insufficient; discipline, preparation, endurance and a strong mental attitude are essential. Faith also motivated her to try again, stating, “When God gives you a vision, you have to be willing to keep moving forward.”
The response has exceeded expectations. While the target is 1,000 participants, Mantey has already received about 4,000 entries. She will lead the session herself, with all participants following her instructions simultaneously.
“Makeup is more than beauty to me; it is a skill that can create opportunities,” she said. “I want someone who participates in that lesson to go home and say, ‘I have learned a skill that I can build a business around.’”
Beyond the record, Mantey hopes the lesson will serve as a platform for skills development, mentorship and women’s empowerment, showcasing Ghana’s talent to the world.
