Another 105 Nigerians arrived in Lagos from South Africa on Friday, raising the number of citizens repatriated since June to 1,926, the foreign ministry said on Tuesday.
The flights are part of a broader effort to bring home Nigerians who have faced xenophobic attacks in South Africa, a situation that has prompted the Nigerian government to accelerate evacuation operations.
Officials have not yet disclosed how many more flights are scheduled, but the latest departure marks a significant step toward completing the repatriation programme.
