At the Mankranso Assembly forecourt, the Ashanti Regional Minister, Dr Frank Amoakohene, paid tribute to the late District Chief Executive (DCE) Abubakar Sedik, who died suddenly while in office. The funeral, attended by family, friends, party supporters and local residents, was marked by grief and reflections on the young politician’s impact on the district.
Dr Amoakohene described Sedik as an exceptional, hardworking administrator who demonstrated strong leadership, commitment and a clear vision for Ahafo Ano South West. He noted that the DCE was quick to respond to challenges and worked tirelessly to address residents’ concerns. “We were swift in responding to issues in the Ahafo Ano South West District because of Abubakar Sadik. He was imbued with a vision for the district and was determined to transform the lives of the people,” the minister said.
Although the loss of the DCE has left a painful void, Dr Amoakohene assured the community that development projects would continue, preserving and advancing Sedik’s legacy. He added that the late DCE would be remembered not only for his political service but also for his commitment to the welfare of the people he served.
Other DCEs who spoke to Adom News expressed sadness over the sudden passing of their colleague, describing him as a dedicated public servant whose contributions to the district’s development would not be forgotten. They urged residents to unite and carry forward the development agenda championed by Sedik.
As mourners conveyed the remains to burial, tears were shed and the atmosphere remained one of collective mourning for a young leader whose tenure was cut short unexpectedly.
