Fashion entrepreneur and former model Herty Twens announced her return to the industry after a seven‑year pause devoted to marriage, motherhood and family life. She founded Gold Model Agency & School in 2011, but stepped away as her family grew, putting her professional ambitions on hold to focus on the demands of motherhood.
Twens said the break allowed her to embrace motherhood, grow personally and gain a fresh perspective on life and business, yet her passion for modelling never faded. "Life happened, and I think that’s the most honest way to put it," she told a showbiz interview. "When I started Gold Model Agency in 2011, I was at a different stage of my life. Along the way, marriage, motherhood and family responsibilities came in, and naturally, my priorities began to change. I got to a point where I needed to step back from the business and give attention to that important season of my life," she explained.
She added that her time away has given her a new outlook and that it is now time to reconnect with her passion and continue building on the foundation she laid over a decade ago. The agency’s return will be marked by the fifth edition of the Golden Hair & Fashion Show, scheduled for Saturday, November 21, 2026, at the Accra City Hotel.
The event will showcase fashion, hairstyling and modelling, providing a platform for students of the agency to display the skills they have acquired. Twens said, "This edition is particularly special because it represents a new chapter for Gold Model Agency. It is not just another fashion show; it is a celebration of our return, our journey and the growth of our new students." She hopes the show will raise the profile of Gold Model Agency and highlight the talent and creativity present in Ghana.
As the industry watches, Twens’ comeback could signal a resurgence for the agency and inspire other entrepreneurs balancing family and career. The Golden Hair & Fashion Show promises a blend of fashion, creativity, hair artistry and professional modelling, with designers, hairstylists and industry professionals in attendance.
