Apprise Music Expands Ghanaian Artist Reach at WOMEX 2026 in Spain

Apprise Music & Media, a Ghanaian music company founded in 2018, completed its fourth attendance at the Worldwide Music Expo (WOMEX) held from 21 to 25 October 2026 in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, Spain. The event brought together music professionals, festival organisers, booking agents, record labels, publishers, cultural institutions and performing artists from around the world.

The delegation, led by Founder and CEO Michael Kwabena Bamfo and COO and Head of Publishing Grace Nyele Mensah, focused on introducing Ghanaian musicians to international industry players and exploring opportunities for sustainable careers beyond Ghana. Discussions covered market access, artist development, live performance prospects, music rights administration and cross‑border cultural projects.

Apprise representatives met with a Recording Academy official, the organisation behind the Grammy Awards, and a vice‑president of The Orchard, Sony Music Entertainment’s distribution arm. They also engaged cultural activists, festival promoters, artist managers and touring professionals to discuss potential cooperation.

Key Ghanaian acts presented included Epixode, Abiana, Yinewin, King Nzema, King Eazie, Ayizam and Rama Black, showcasing a mix of live instrumentation, local languages and contemporary production. The company highlighted its interest in promoting Ghana’s musical heritage—Highlife, indigenous percussion, regional folk traditions and local‑language compositions—through international representation and cultural diplomacy.

While no formal agreements were announced, Apprise plans to continue dialogues with contacts made at WOMEX and to assess future artist showcases, touring arrangements, music education and cultural exchange programmes.
