The Ghana Police Service has revealed that the operator of the TikTok account “Ghana Jollof”, identified as Barbara Asantewaa Kodua, allegedly transferred funds to senior nursing officer Salomey Awity Baffoe in Ghana to support the publication and circulation of her online content.
Director‑General of the Criminal Investigation Department, COP Lydia Donkor, confirmed that investigations have established the remittance and subsequent distribution of the money to other individuals involved in redistributing the videos across various social media platforms.
Forensic examination of Baffoe’s mobile phone, audio and video files, as well as mobile‑money transaction records, provided evidence of the alleged financial arrangements. The investigation also found that Baffoe helped recruit others to redistribute and circulate the material online.
Investigators have determined that the two women were friends, with audio interviews offering further proof of their relationship. Baffoe was brought before the Adenta Circuit Court 1 on a charge of abetment of crime, specifically the publication of false news, and was remanded to assist with the investigation.
She is expected to reappear before the court on September 30, 2026. Police continue to identify and locate other people allegedly involved in redistributing the videos and those who allegedly financed the online activities.
