Madam Bridgette Evelyn Prempeh, headmistress of Mpasatia D/A Basic A School in the Atwima Mponua District of the Ashanti Region, received a GH₵5,000 cash prize and a set of household appliances after securing second place in Channel One TV’s 2026 Community Legend initiative.
The prize package, sponsored by Electroland Ghana Ltd., includes a refrigerator, blender, microwave oven and rice cooker. The award recognises Madam Prempeh’s commitment to serving her community, her dedication to education and her philanthropic efforts.
Channel One TV management presenter Ashanti Regional Correspondent Bright Yeboah presented the award and said, “We at Channel One TV appreciate Madam Bridgette’s efforts and congratulate her on emerging as the runner‑up, or second‑place winner, in the initiative. As part of this recognition, we are presenting her with a cash prize of GH₵5,000, together with these electrical appliances from Electroland Ghana Limited. We say ayekoo to Madam Bridgette.”
Reacting to the recognition, Madam Prempeh expressed her gratitude, saying, “I really don’t know what to say. I am even baffled. I see this as something very important to me because many people never thought that a day like this would come for me—to win such an award and be recognised by the world. It means a lot to me to receive such recognition from Channel One TV.”
The Community Legend initiative is designed to identify and celebrate ordinary Ghanaians whose acts of service, sacrifice and commitment are contributing to the development and wellbeing of their communities.
Future recipients will be announced in the coming months as Channel One TV continues to spotlight community heroes across Ghana.
