Accra‑based fintech startup SusuPaa emerged victorious at the recently concluded Moolre Startup Cup, a four‑month national buildathon that tested participants on Moolre’s Collections, Disbursements, and USSD APIs. The platform took home two awards, positioning it among the country’s most closely watched innovations in the informal savings space.
SusuPaa is a B2B solution designed to digitise Ghana’s susu ecosystem, which underpins household and small‑business finance across the country. The platform offers group susu cycles, goal‑based savings plans, digitised passbooks, full‑lifecycle lending with live PAR and automated provisioning, and a member portal for savings, loan applications and statement downloads.
Currently, SusuPaa powers 29 active susu organisations and serves over 3,361 members live on the platform, having processed more than GHS12 million in transaction volume. The growth comes amid a market where member deposits rose from roughly GH¢1.2 billion in 2023 to about GH¢1.6 billion in 2024, according to the Ghana Co‑operative Susu Collectors Association.

CEO Prince Tettevi said, “These awards are a strong recognition of the work our team has put into building something that genuinely fits how susu collectors and microfinance institutions operate on the ground. Ghana’s susu industry moves billions of cedis a year through relationships and trust. Our job is to give that system the infrastructure it deserves, for the collector managing dozens of members, without changing what makes susu work in the first place.”
For everyday susu contributors, the platform means instant balance checks, mobile money contributions from anywhere, and auditable records. For collectors and institutions, it translates to fewer reconciliation headaches and a scalable system that grows with them.
The awards add momentum to SusuPaa’s ongoing effort to onboard more susu collectors, cooperatives, welfare funds and microfinance institutions. More information is available at www.susupaa.com.
