Tamale Rotary Club Screens 168 Girls in Breast Cancer Drive

The Rotary Club of Tamale carried out its yearly breast cancer awareness project on Friday, Oct. 23, 2026, at Our Lady of Fatima R/C Junior High School in Tamale. The programme, themed “Early Action, Better Outcomes,” aimed to promote breast health, raise awareness and encourage early detection.

In total, 318 students took part in the awareness activities, while 201 community members—including primary school pupils and women within the school community—also benefited from the initiative.

Screening identified two cases that required further attention, although neither involved breast lumps. The club said the drive is part of its commitment to promoting community health and empowering young people and women with knowledge to take proactive steps toward their health.

The Rotary Club urged the public to prioritise breast health and seek timely medical attention when concerns arise.
