SankofaTech has unveiled the Achievers in Technology (AIT) Ghana Programme, a year‑long effort to give graduates practical tech skills and industry exposure during their national service.
The plan taps into the National Service Scheme, which the organisation sees as a strategic entry point for turning academic knowledge into market‑ready talent. Selected graduates will serve with SankofaTech, working on structured projects, receiving technical training, and engaging in mentorship, community service and professional development.
AIT’s Technical Track will see fellows specialise in particular technology stacks, while a Build for Ghana Capstone will have them create minimum viable products that tackle local tech and service challenges. The programme also emphasises soft skills, business acumen and civic leadership through volunteer projects.
Key outcomes include a pipeline of high‑potential tech talent, job‑ready graduates, innovative community solutions and successful career transitions via internships and full‑time placements. The pilot cohort will start with up to ten participants, with plans to grow beyond thirty in future cycles.
By integrating training, real‑world projects, mentorship and employment pathways into the national service year, SankofaTech aims to narrow the gap between university learning and the demands of Ghana’s digital economy.
