Pope Yao Yevoo, the former Volta Regional Secretary of the New Patriotic Party, was announced as the party’s Deputy National Organiser on Thursday. The appointment follows a long career within the NPP, beginning in 2000, and includes stints as Ketu North Constituency Secretary, Volta Regional Communications Officer and Regional Secretary.
In a communique released to the party’s media, Yevoo thanked the NPP hierarchy for the opportunity and declared his commitment to “work tirelessly alongside the entire leadership team, grassroots members, and stakeholders to strengthen our organisation, mobilise our people, and secure a resounding victory for the NPP in the 2028 elections.”
"I am fully committed to working tirelessly alongside the entire leadership team, grassroots members, and stakeholders to strengthen our organisation, mobilise our people, and secure a resounding victory for the NPP in the 2028 elections," Yevoo said.
He added that he would support National Organiser Hon. Titus Glover in galvanising votes and called on regional and constituency organisers to adopt innovative strategies to win over people at the grassroots level. Yevoo stressed the importance of expanding the party’s membership base as a key to translating into votes.
"I am urging my colleagues in the regions and constituencies to adopt innovative strategies to win over people at their grassroots levels and ensure they vote for the NPP, so we can win the 2028 general elections," he urged.
With the 2028 general elections looming, the NPP’s leadership is keen to reinforce its organisational structure and mobilise supporters across the country. Yevoo’s appointment is seen as a strategic move to bolster the party’s campaign machinery ahead of the contest with the governing NDC.
What to watch next: The NPP will soon outline its national mobilisation strategy, with Yevoo expected to play a key role in coordinating grassroots campaigns and membership drives. The party’s performance in the lead-up to the 2028 elections will be closely monitored by political analysts and rival parties alike.
