Parliament Walkout: Minority Protest After Speaker Orders MP Out

In a tense session on Tuesday, November 3, Speaker Alban Bagbin ordered Damongo MP Samuel Abu Jinapor out of the House after the MP accused the government of selling Ghanaian diplomatic passports for between US$10,000 and US$50,000. Abu Jinapor claimed to possess evidence supporting his allegation and called for an investigation, but Majority Leader James Agalga demanded he substantiate the claim or retract it. Bagbin instructed the Parliamentary Marshal to escort the MP from the Chamber, citing non‑compliance with the directive. In solidarity, the Minority Caucus walked out, further escalating tensions in the parliamentary proceedings.
