The Member of Parliament for Madina, Francis‑Xavier Sosu, collapsed on stage while delivering a speech at the Ghana Institute of Management and Public Administration (GIMPA) on Thursday, September 24, 2026.
Addressing an audience about his personal experiences, leadership, and commitment to public service, Sosu paused and appeared to lose consciousness moments after stating, “I respectfully submit that if you want to be a good leader, let service be your hallmark.”
Attendees rushed to the stage to assist the MP. He briefly seemed to regain consciousness and was poised to continue, but soon slumped again. He was then helped off the stage and taken for medical attention.
