Kudus Returns to Tottenham Start After 257‑Day Absence

Mohammed Kudus made his long‑awaited return to Tottenham Hotspur’s starting XI in the Carabao Cup third‑round clash with Liverpool at Anfield. The 26‑year‑old, who had not started a Spurs match for 257 days, appeared lively for 75 minutes before being replaced by new signing Savio.

With Tottenham trailing 1‑0, Kudus had a golden chance to level the score in the 32nd minute, but his close‑range effort sailed over the bar. Liverpool went on to secure a 3‑1 victory, ending Spurs’ cup run.

His return is seen as encouraging for Ghana, where the forward is expected to feature in Carlos Queiroz’s squad for the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers against Côte d’Ivoire and The Gambia.
