Japan Motors Trading Company Ltd. rolled out Geely’s latest electrified lineup in Ghana today, marking a significant step toward sustainable mobility in the country. The launch showcased three models: the all‑electric Geely EX5 SUV, the plug‑in hybrid EX5 EM‑i and the compact city‑ready EX2.
Speaking at the event, Japan Motors Ghana Managing Director Amine Kabbara said the Galaxy range “aligns perfectly with our commitment to delivering forward‑looking mobility solutions in Ghana.” He added that the new vehicles provide “meaningful choice: long‑range electric driving, plug‑in hybrid flexibility, and compact urban efficiency all supported nationwide by Japan Motors.”
Geely’s presence in Ghana began in 2024 with internal‑combustion models. The new electrified range follows a year‑long testing phase of the EX5 on Ghanaian roads, which reportedly yielded highly successful results. Kabbara noted that Japan Motors has invested in local capacity building, sending engineers to China for training and installing modern diagnostic tools to support after‑sales service.
All three vehicles come with an 8‑year / 200,000‑km warranty, genuine spare parts and dedicated service support. Test drives and purchases are now available at Japan Motors showrooms across Accra, Tema, Takoradi, Kumasi and Tamale.

Geely Sales Manager at Japan Motors, Mensah Adu Buabeng, detailed the specs: the EX5 electric SUV is powered by a 160‑kW motor and a 60.22‑kWh LFP battery, delivering up to 410 km of WLTP range and 0‑100 km/h in 7.1 seconds; the EX5 EM‑i hybrid offers 943 km of total combined range with 83 km of pure electric; the EX2 urban crossover provides 325 km of WLTP range and dual‑trunk storage.
