In a TikTok Live broadcast, Ghanaian singer MzVee addressed the persistent rumours that she and fellow artiste Kofi Kinaata were dating. She said the speculation was unfounded, adding that the two are “great colleagues and friends” and that she has no idea how the rumours began.
“I don’t know where they started from. Why do I need to marry Kofi Kinaata? I think he’s married. Kofi Kinaata and I are friends, great colleagues. We talk once in a blue moon, and we have great respect for each other, but we are NOT dating,” MzVee told viewers.
MzVee also praised Kofi Kinaata’s talent, calling him an “amazing artiste,” and reiterated that their relationship is based on friendship and professional respect. She dismissed similar rumours linking her to Mugeez of R2Bees, describing him as a respected friend and collaborator.
“Mugeez is legendary. Another very respected artiste, I respect him very much; he’s my friend. We’ve made music together, we do chat, but that’s where it ends. We appreciate each other as human beings and as musicians, and that’s that,” she added.
During the live, MzVee lightened the mood by joking about fans’ hopes for a romance, suggesting she might call Mugeez to confirm his relationship status. She concluded by urging fans to stop the speculation and respect her friendship with both artists.
MzVee first rose to prominence as a member of the girl group D3 under Lynx Entertainment before launching her solo career in 2014. She has earned accolades including the Unsung Artiste award at the 2014 Ghana Music Awards, New Artiste of the Year in 2015, and a BET Award nomination in 2016.
