Liverpool beat Bournemouth 1‑0 at the Vitality Stadium on the final day of the Premier League season, with Alexander Isak’s fourth league goal of the campaign proving decisive.

Isak, who had previously scored for the club, tucked home a close‑range finish after a determined run by Cody Gakpo that left the Cherries unable to clear a ball into the box. The goal came in the 57th minute, giving Liverpool a narrow lead that held until the final whistle.

The match was notable for the return of Liverpool boss Andoni Iraoli, who had led Bournemouth to European qualification before taking the Liverpool helm in the summer. Fans welcomed him back, but his presence was marred when Isak celebrated with the travelling supporters and was booked by referee Michael Oliver.

Bournemouth had a chance to draw level early, with Evanilson’s 18th‑minute flick followed by a clean save from Alisson that earned a corner. A late effort from Florian Wirtz was ruled offside after replays confirmed he was onside. Other moments included Bradley Barcola’s £123m signing forcing Djordje Petrovic to save with his legs, and Dominik Szoboszlai’s 25‑yard free‑kick that missed wide.

With the win, Liverpool move up to sixth place with nine points from six games, while Bournemouth fall to 17th with three points from five games.
